The Jazz Cafe, Camden, is one of London’s most iconic live music venues. Being owned by one of the most successful bar/restaurant/club groups in London, The Columbo Group, who owns places such as The Blues Kitchen, XOYO, Phonox, The Nest and other great London venues. We knew from that line up that we were in for a good night.
Just a year after celebrating their 25th birthday yesterday, The Jazz Cafe is still withholding it incredible reputation and unbelievably talented string of Jazz an Blues bands.
It is located super close to Camden underground station, you literally walk up and out of the station and turn right onto the first street on your right hand side and you will see the the bright sign for The Jazz Cafe.
Their are two distinct areas in the restaurant/club, the restaurant area is located upstairs where you can find a sophisticated drinks menu alongside a multi-cultural food menu which is sure to feed all types of taste buds.
We reserved a table upstairs about 6 weeks beforehand (highly advised to book ahead), we were seated on levitated bar type table which looked over the the stage on the ground floor. This offers you a great alternative to watch the great music to being downstairs in the sweaty standing area whilst watching the jazz music.
What I really loved about the venue is that it is a very intimate space (only 440 capacity), however, you feel like there is space to breath, in comparison to lots of gig venues where you can’t move without knocking someone’s drink out of there hand.
Anyway, if you are looking for a new cool place to go in London as one of your New Years Resolution, The Jazz Cafe is definitely the place to go.
