Acai Bowls! My new favourite Superfood obsession

So I had never really heard of Acai bowls before coming to Australia and it seems to be the new trendy super food to be eating.

And it is now my new favourite thing to eat.

Here is a picture below showing my attempt at one of my Acai Bowls.

Ingredients for the Acai Bowl featured below: Organic Granola, Acai Smoothie Mix, Cut Strawberries, Sliced Banana and Blended Mango.

First of all I thought I would clear up what is so good about this new berry Acai and why everyone is going crazy for it.

I have listed the most important five health benefits below:

1. High in Anthocyanins – the ability to lower blood Cholestral levels in the blood stream.

2. Aid in Weight Loss (Ideal!)

3. Helps Digestion – Helps keep our digestion system clean

4. Immune Booster – Acai is very high in Vitamin C and ellagic acid

5. Anti-aging effects – High in many forms of plant photochemicals which helps slow down the typical process of aging which is related to oxidative damage.

With all of the points above, why would you not start eating Acai Berries and enjoy the very tasty Acai Bowls.

You will be able to buy them in most cities around the world now. However, if you would like to make them yourself follow the steps below:

Granola, Museli (Use your favourite type)
Water (100ml)
1 Acai Sachets (You can buy these online or from most health food stores, if you cannot find use Acai berries instead)
1 Sliced Banana
Fruit Toppings of your choice (Ideas: Bananas, Strawberries, Blueberries, Goji Berries etc.)

Firstly, one of the most important pieces of equipment is a blender to be able to make your Acai smoothie mix. If you don’t have one they are super easy to buy in supermarkets or electrical shops.
Choose a bowl of your size and put a first layer of Granola/Museli on the bottom of the bowl
Blend the water, acai sachet (berries) and sliced banana together
Once smooth layer the Acai smoothie mix on top of the bottom granola/museli layer
Then put a top layer on top of the Acai smoothie mix to fill the bowl
Finally, cut your topping fruits into nice shappes and decorate the bowl to your choice
It is as easy as that!!


And it is soo good!!
