Wouldn’t it be perfect if we could wake up every morning to flawless skin and a healthy holiday glow on our cheeks? That’s something we long for, but we guess that will only ever be wishful thinking…
Although many of us may not wake up with perfect looking skin, there are some magical beauty products that can help us achieve the desired look.
About 9 months ago my friend Natalie tried Benefit’s the POREfessional primer for the first time and was amazed by how silky smooth her skin felt and thought she could say goodbye to uneven pores forever! We recommend using it around your nose, chin, t-zone and occasionally on your cheeks just above your jawline if you need to. You only need to use a tiny amount and it instantly minimises the appearance of pores. When applying foundation over the top, your skin will looked polished but natural – just the look we want!
However, we found there is potential for you to get more breakouts than before and for problem areas to become bigger, which could become an issue…we’re trying to hide any uneven skin, not create more!
When summer came around, Natalie stopped using primer and foundation and was able to get away with just wearing BB creams and a bit of powder. But by October NARS Sheer Glow foundation (thanks to Tanya Burr for her rave reviews) was on the cards, and by Christmas when our skin starts to look dull and lifeless a new primer was on the horizon.
This is where Benefit’s “that gal” comes in! Now, not wanting to make a rash first decision on this primer as we did with the POREfessional, we’ve given this one about a month to settle in. “that gal” primer is very different to the other one as it’s used to brighten your complexion. Applying it on the apples of your cheeks, a little down my nose and a little on your forehead just above my eyebrows will instantly brighten your complexion and give the healthy glow we’ve all been lusting after.
Both products come in at around the £20 mark, so a little pricey for everyday use. In an ideal world, we’d love to use both products on a daily basis, but for now Natalie tends to use “that gal” when her skin is looking particularly dull, which at the moment is quite often (January blues and all!), and the POREfessional is used for a nice event or a night out to leave her skin looking healthy, flawless and glowing.
If you’re able to pick up a tester at a Benefit counter of either the POREfessional or “that gal” then we’d definitely recommend doing that, so you can have a few trials with it before knowing how your skin will react.
We’d love to hear what you have to say about either of these products! Have you tried them? Or do you have any suggestions for other primers to try?
